Scar III G531GV Review: Build Quality

The ROG Scar III G531GV has similar design and features. It has a 15.6-inch display which is pretty standard for any gaming laptop. You have three USB ports, charging socket, Ethernet and HDMI port on the back. Also, the RGB strip is awesome which looks great. You can also tweak the settings via the Armoury Create App. Let’s find out more in this Scar III G531GV Review.

There is a 15.6-inch screen gaming laptop with a Full HD+ resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen to body ratio is quite good and looks great. Also, the RGB looks totally great with it.

The RGB keyboard has a decent amount of key travel when we were finishing this review from this own keyboard.

The trackpad also felt good, it has glowing touch numpad installed in it and this is so clever thing that Asus has done with their premium line of ZenBook laptops.

On the right of the machine, there is ventilation and Scar stone space. This keystone is the security key to unlock the hidden space that has been locked by it itself.

This key will act like an additional hardware security layer that will help you secure your data.

Input/ Output Ports:

On the left side, there are three USB ports and a headphone jack port. Pretty clean right?

On the backside, there is an Ethernet, HDMI, USB-C and DC Input with additional ventilation.

ROG Scar III G531GV Review: Performance

ASUS has installed all-in with the Scar III variant, it is powered by a Core i7-9750H 8-core processor, a full-sized RTX 2060 GPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The laptop can carry every task that we through on this. I myself use Acer’s Helios Predator 300 2018 Edition that too works fine, and right now with the Scar III, it is super helpful to carry the load of different case scenarios.

During the heavy performance, the laptop worked nice. It was taking around 100-90fps and near around fps during the gaming performance. I’ve tested the Far Cry 5 and other games too, they worked fine. But speaking of price, I won’t recommend this on the with respect to price. I would love to make the desktop CPU with same specs and get more performance for heavy usage rather than having this heavy portable machine.

You can easily play games on this in between 90-130 FPS at ultra settings, you can also use the turbo mode for the actual gameplays and editings.

ROG Scar III G531GV Review: Battery

This Scar III comes with a 66WHr, 4-cell battery. It is just an average battery for this kind of machines. You are gonna need spare power all the time for intense workload in our suggestion. It can easily last upto 3-4hrs of decent usage and around 1 hour in heavy usage.

ROG Scar III G531GV Review: PROS

  • Very Nice Performance
  • Design is So Good
  • Keyboard is Decent
  • Yes, the display is good and sharp.

ROG Scar III G531GV Review: CONS

  • The battery isn’t good as this is a gaming laptop.
  • The touchpad is not good.
  • Heavy machine.
  • Heats up alot.
