From the past, the MacBook Air is the only portable lightweight laptop that everybody loved. But today, you can see many of the MacBook’s alternatives such as ASUS thin laptops, a couple of other laptops too. Today we will talk about the Asus ZenBook Flip S. Yes, let’s start the ZenBook Flip S Review.
Basically, it is a touch-tablet-laptop with an powerful hardware. You can call it a MacBook without the Thunderbolt ports. Also, the display is not that awesome it is great but it still lacks against the Retina display. It comes with a fingerprint sensor, touchscreen, and USB-C ports.
Let’s talk about the specifications:
It does come with an i7-8550U with a clock speed of 1.80 and 1.90GHz. It is not the fastest i7 processor but it is a decent one. This laptop is coupled with a 16GB RAM and a 256/512GB SSD. ZenBook Flip S supports 10 points touch at the one time if you ask about it.
ZenBook S Review Design:
This machine is quite similar to the MacBook (12-inch) variant. There are chamfered edges and these color combinations feel great. The fingerprint is given on the right of the laptop, the USB port is there on the left and right. It is lightweight, supports touch for easy interactions. Asus has clear the competition in almost all of the segments, there are laptops in the budget, midrange, premium and gaming segments.
For connectivity, you gonna need the dock that you will get inside the box. That has HDMI, USB-C, SD Card and other options. Other than these things, it surely is a gorgeous laptop.
The keyboard is good enough to use for almost everything with ease. The buttons are clicky and have a 1.0mm travel and forceful feedback. Also, the backlighting is pretty. It’s different than the normal white or red lighting.
The trackpad is based on Microsoft’s precision touchpad specs so, it is excellent in its class. The gestures are smooth and buttery.
The silent fan is placed on the left. It is actually silent though, it won’t let the laptop heat. Also, you have 3.5mm jack and a USB-C port on the left for further use.
On the right, you are having a power button, volume rockers, fingerprint sensor, and USB-C. The fingerprint works great. Also, the volume buttons are tactile and clicky.
The stylus is just awesome. It can sense 1,024 levels of pressure which works simply great. It is good for designers who want to make the drawings more effective. There are customizable buttons which are also good.
The display is vibrant and has a 100% sRGB color gamut. It has an 80% screen-to-body ratio which is good though. We did not feel more difference among some finest screens. The touch response is good and accurate.
The speakers on the laptop are present on the bottom corner which are loud and even better if you put them open. But we would still recommend using the headphones to save the battery and reduce the noise pollution.

- Geekbench 4 Single-Core: 4,410; Multi-Core: 8,490
- Cinebench CPU: 310 points; Graphics: 46 fps
- Battery Test: 8hours and 25minutes on 60% brightness.
- Battery Test: 9hours and 10minutes on 40% brightness.
Asus ZenBook Flip S Review Battery life:
The laptop has a good battery life just like a MacBook Air. It can go upto 9 hours if you use it on a low amount of brightness or for watching movies without Internet connected. It gave around 7 hours with 70% brightness and Internet surfing.
Definitely, it is a pick for everything, it is powerful, has a good battery and easy to use even in connectivity but it lags a Thunderbolt port and a couple of minimal touches which are not even required for a daily user.
The ZenBook Flip S Price:
If you live in India you can purchase this machine for around 1,34,000 Indian Rupees. Now, remember there are other options too which won’t cost you this much. If you can compromise with touch thing and slimness you can surely but others but if you want these features then this is an awesome choice for you.
