According to the latest WhatsApp beta version, the WhatsApp payments feature has been rolled to few beta users. This option is available only to beta users that means the work is in progress. WhatsApp payments might come to stable WhatsApp very soon.
How to use WhatsApp Payments feature?
If you are using the WhatsApp beta, first update it and then follow this simple step.
- Enable it from settings by ‘accept and continue’.
- Verify your phone number and current bank.
- Open the chat.
- Click on attachment option.
- It’s the same option that we use to send pictures, docs, locations and etc.
If you are using the old WhatsApp beta, you might be seeing the payments option in settings. If you tap on the option it will ask the same we have shown in the image above.
Also, it is imp that the user is using the UPI account as well. You have to choose if you are sending or accepting payments. If your bank supports the UPI payments you can directly link to the bank account.
As per of testing, there is no stable public option in WhatsApp but it is coming soon to stability.
WhatsApp now has the permission from National Payments Corporation of India (i.e NPCI) to allow the UPI payments with the application itself. The Google Tez is already there which is quite stable and people are using the Tez app on the high amount. We are waiting for WhatsApp now to launch the WhatsApp payments in the stable and working state.
This will surely make the payments easier for every user. As WhatsApp is one of the highly used apps across the world and even in India. For now, the feature is in beta stage. If you want to test by yourself you can download the latest beta version from WhatsApp official website.
