Asus is known for gaming devices and ROG is one of the famous series ever launched by them. The new budget gaming FX series recently got introduced and previously Asus FX503 did a great job. And now, Asus has launched the Asus FX504 with 120Hz refresh rate edition. In this is Asus Fx504 Review we will see how much it is capable of.

First of all, there is no RGB lighting, it’s all classic RED. It is lighter than normal gaming machines. It’s a perfect fit for a basic to midrange user even if you don’t do gaming. The laptop looks cool, has a classic finish. Even though it has a metal lid case. One more thing it has everything on the left. Wondering why? Let’s find out in this Review.

Asus FX504 Specs:

There are two models that exist in the Asus FX504 series. One is a low-end variant with¬†Intel Core i5 8300H processor along with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM. And the other one is with 8th-generation Intel Core i7-8750 processor; 8GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB storage; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM are priced at Rs 90,990. The i5 variant’s price varies from time to time. You can even get it for Rs 63,999 in online sales.

The ASUS TUF FX504 Gaming is much better if you know how to use your hardware. It even has dual fan cooling which is just awesome. It is portable as compared to other gaming laptops. We personally found this helpful while carrying the machine.

ASUS FX504 Design:

This machine is solid, built to last and has a combination of almost everything we see in premium laptops. It’s classy for budget segments. It doesn’t look like a ROG series laptop however it has slightly same views of STRIX editions. Yes, the display is better than the FX503 editions and TUF is super cool too. It feels premium throughout the usage.

It looks professional and the red color makes it super cool. There is a premium steel cover on the top of the lid. Also, the laptop weighs around 2.3kgs which makes it pretty portable gaming laptop.

This has got 120Hz refresh rate with an IPS panel including the matte finish. The brightness in the sunlight isn’t that great but it is cool to see such an addition to the price segment with the features.

Asus FX504 Review: Peformance

As it comes with high-end specifications, the model we checked had i7-8750H with 8GB of DDR4 RAM along with 1TB FireCuda SSHD and 128GB PCIE SSD storage. We expected a 16GB of RAM for this build but they included just 8GB. 8GB was good with an i5th model but so far so good.

The SSHD runs faster than the normal hard drive. It was doing the operations around 2x faster than the normal HDD. And the GTX 1050Ti made it awesome for gaming rigs. We played few games and it was able to run them smoothly in different settings.

It is great for daily usage, video edits and etc but sometimes with high-end resolutions in gaming you might see little lags even though that is nothing as comparing to this price segment.

The Anti-dust cooling system with overboost is just awesome. It has two dedicated tunnels for both CPU and GPU which controls the thermal issues. The fan speed is noisy and you can not do anything in it. If you are okay with the fans sound then it will run even without heat because the more the speed of fans, the more it cools easily.

How is the Keyboard and the Trackpad?

As it has a red backlit keyboard, and it is super easy to type even more comfortable. It features a full sized keyboard with few gaming settings too. The WASD keys are highlighted with extra red around them. Keys are good with the decent amount of travel. For us, we didn’t feel any issue in typing or accessing any key from the machine’s keyboard.

Yes, the trackpad isn’t that great. You need to use the external mouse for more gaming usages but for normal usages trackpad will work fine.

And How’s The Connectivity, Battery And Camera?

All ports are added on the left side for the proper gaming trackings. This Asus TUF FX504 has the Gigabit wired along with wireless AC options. Also, there is a Bluetooth as well. However, the connectivity is not an issue in this. There are three USB ports, one HDMI port and a combined 3.5mm jack. The camera is just okay, none of the use. You gonna need to add extra cam for video recordings. The battery is average too on this machine.

It has a 48Wh battery which is okay. With full brightness it will give you around 3 hours of battery life and with mid or low brightness ti can go upto 4hrs or 5 hrs of battery life. So, this depends on you how you use the laptop. Normally, it gets a full charge in around 1.5hrs or 2hrs without any issue.

So, that is it for the Asus FX504 Review, if you have any queries regarding the laptop just let us know. If you want to buy this ASUS FX504, here is the best buy link for you.
